  • 1 pre-made pie crust (9 inches)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the thinly sliced onion and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, dried thyme, and dried oregano.
  5. Sprinkle half of the caramelized onions onto the pie crust. Top with half of the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the shredded Swiss cheese.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining caramelized onions and cheeses.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the layers in the pie crust, making sure it's evenly distributed.
  8. Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
  9. Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
