Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (680 grams)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (60 grams)
  • 1/2 cup milk (120 milliliters)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (45 grams)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley (15 grams)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (40 grams)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes (115 grams)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (120 milliliters)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (25 grams)

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, Parmesan cheese, parsley, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, and eggs. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Take half of the meat mixture and press it into the bottom of a greased loaf pan, forming a flat layer.
  4. Place the mozzarella cheese cubes on top of the meat layer, evenly distributing them across the loaf.
  5. Take the remaining half of the meat mixture and press it on top of the cheese layer, sealing the cheese inside.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup and brown sugar. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  8. Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
