  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for added heat)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 large lettuce leaves (for serving)
  • 4 slices tomato (for serving)
  • Pickles (for serving)

Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped bacon and cook until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.

  2. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and season with salt, black pepper, paprika, dried oregano, dried basil, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook the ground beef until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.

  4. Once the ground beef is cooked, reduce the heat to low. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef and let it melt.

  5. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and cooked bacon. Set aside.

  6. To serve, place a large lettuce leaf on a plate. Spoon a generous portion of the cheeseburger mixture onto the lettuce leaf. Top with a slice of tomato and a dollop of the bacon mayonnaise. Add pickles if desired.
