Ingredients

  • For the crust:

    • 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
    • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • For the pecan filling:

    • 3/4 cup (150g) packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
    • 1/3 cup (80ml) honey
    • 2 tablespoons (30ml) heavy cream
    • 2 cups (240g) chopped pecans
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, melted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  3. Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.

  4. While the crust is baking, prepare the pecan filling. In a large bowl, combine the packed brown sugar, melted butter, honey, heavy cream, chopped pecans, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  5. Pour the pecan filling over the partially baked crust, spreading it out evenly.

  6. Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and golden brown on top.

  7. Remove the pecan pie bars from the oven and let them cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.

Serving Suggestions

Pecan Pie Bars are best served at room temperature. They make a wonderful addition to any holiday dessert spread or potluck gathering.
