  • 12 caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (120 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (30 milliliters)
  • Additional caramel sauce for drizzling

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the apple cider and milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
  7. Press one caramel candy into the center of each cupcake, making sure it is completely covered by the batter.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  9. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. While the cupcakes are cooling, prepare the caramel frosting. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
